Sincere Politician

Malaysiakini: Gerakan veteran Dr Toh Kin Woon has lamented the difficulties of bringing changes within the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition and conceded that he may have failed to make Malaysia "more open and democratic".
A very sincere statement from Dr. Toh, I think... If more YBs having the "changing and open mind" like Dr Toh, I think it can be done. However, in realistic world....
He is one of the Malaysia politician whom I really respect because he dare to say out his concern and view regardless of his Exco position in state government may be threaten...

  1. Hello
A great site you have here!

Yes that was a sincere and courageous remark coming from Gerakan veteran YB Dr. Toh.

However the following facts in Mkini left me wondering if it would have been better for him and for all Malaysians had he voiced out these remarks loud and clear in the past 12 years as an elected state assembly man and not waited until now that he is near retirement-

"Toh, 63, currently serves in the Pulau Pinang State Executive Council.
He said he will soon be retiring from politics and will not be contesting in the coming general election.
Toh has been a Gerakan member since 1982 and has been the state assembly person for Machang Bubuk since 1995."
